Erin Slavik, MS Science & 6th Grade MUM

Please read below to see what is happening in middle school science this week!

WEEK OF APRIL 30TH - MAY 4TH

6th Grade Science

This week in science sixth graders will be continuing their unit on cells. In this unit students will discover the diversity of cells. They will learn about the cell structure and how cells, tissues and organs form organisms. Sixth graders will learn about the parts of a cell and the reason that cells are so small. The names and functions of the cell structures, called organelles will be discussed, in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells.

Sixth graders will be trading their Solar System Trading Cards this week as well. They have been anxiously awaiting this moment!

Please watch for some homework to be given throughout the week.

7th Grade Science

Seventh graders will finish up their unit on volcanoes with an end-of-the-unit assessment on Tuesday of this week. Study guides were given out last week and will be handed in Tuesday.

Seventh graders will then start their next unit on motion. They will be studying force and learning how to find net force in objects.

Please watch for some homework to come home during the week.

6th Grade MUM

This week in math, 6th graders will be continuing to review concepts that have been covered throughout the year. We will be covering these concepts, making sure that students have mastered each standard that has been covered.

Please watch for homework each night this week.
